Abstract

This article analyzes aspects of creativity mobilized by elementary school students when solving problems in a workshop developed remotely. The research approach is qualitative, and the participants were 19 7th grade students from a school in Paraná/Brazil. The workshop took place over six synchronous meetings via Google Meet, asynchronous activities via Google Classroom, and discussions of problems via the WhatsApp messaging app. This study analyzes two problems explored, one individually and the other in groups. The data collected for analysis is made up of: (i) a record of the solutions to each problem and the audio recordings of the discussions. The results obtained showed the mobilization of aspects such as fluency, given the variety of answers presented both during individual problem solving and in groups; flexibility, as they explored various mathematical contents to solve the problem; and originality, with the presentation of answers considered rare in the group analyzed.
