Abstract

The Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP) is an opportunity for undergraduate students in mathematics programs to experience practical training and acquire skills and competencies for their future profession. This article aims to analyze the challenges and experiences of students in a mathematics undergraduate program during the pandemic. This is a qualitative research study in which 20 residents participated through a semi-structured questionnaire. The results indicate that the isolation caused by the pandemic was one of the greatest challenges faced, and the absence of the physical classroom was one of the points mentioned. The adaptation of practices for remote teaching required these residents to use digital technology, even without specific training. The importance of collaborative movement as a space for dialogue between residents and preceptors was an important step that provided an expansion of knowledge by uniting theory and practice, even in adverse scenarios.
