Abstract

In Aula de Matemática, Tom Jobim sings about the reasoning of mathematical concepts for the result of sentimental expression. The lyrics were composed in 1958 and released in 1979, through the poetic style of metaphor, bring Literature closer to operations and theorems in which human relationships are learned by multiplying good moments and that, “by A plus B”, the demonstration of love is declared simply and directly. When it comes to teaching aspects, thinking about a class that unites these two parallel lines, Mathematics and Literature, challenges the routine, habitual distance of their contents, so that infinity does not later integrate a heart of knowledge. From poetic calculation to the achievement of a unit, this essay, from an empirical perspective guided by action and formulation methodologies, aims to share a proposal for a class whose emphasis is on teaching high school students how the poem unfolds and is constructed decisively through the calculation of the matrix, whose mediation provides dazzling interpretation of the logical aspect for the emotional integration of knowledge.
