This article aims to understand the architect’s work procedures, analyzing them comparatively to Mathematical Modelling procedures in line with the Creative Processes, through Learning with Modelling. This is a qualitative research, in which Mapping in Educational Research was used as a methodological principle for organizing and analyzing data. Data production took place from a semi-structured interview, using the Google Meet videoconferencing platform, with an architect with experience in the labor market. Thus, the data produced, as well as the theoretical bases studied, were compared to the intention, projection, creation and product phases of Learning with Modeling, being analyzed and compared to the creations carried out in the architect’s actions, allowing to identify similarities present between them. The results indicate that the steps used by the architect in his work practice are similar to the procedures of Mathematical Modelling and the ideas of Learning with Modelling, which suggests reflections and possibilities of use in Basic Education.
