This study aimed to investigate the presence of Universal Design for Learning in the approach of Mathematical Modeling in a pedagogical practice applied in a public elementary school classroom. A pedagogical intervention was conducted with 32 6th-grade students, collecting data through observation, notes, recordings, and photos. The results highlighted a dynamic and creative integration in the construction of physical models, related to students’ everyday life. The application of Mathematical Modeling revealed the presence of Universal Design for Learning, offering accessible and inclusive practices. It is concluded that Mathematical Modeling can be a promising approach to promote accessible and inclusive education. Thus, the study emphasizes the importance of exploring different ways of building knowledge, such as the physical model, to meet students’ needs and foster meaningful learning.
