The school uniform constitutes an important design artifact within the educational context, involving functional, ergonomic, symbolic, and social aspects related to students’ daily use. However, many school clothing projects still predominantly prioritize aesthetic and institutional factors over issues related to comfort, usability, mobility, and garment durability. In this context, this research aimed to develop a conceptual collection proposal of sports uniforms for the municipal public school system of Ijuí, guided by institutional demands and by ergonomic, functional, and aesthetic requirements systematized through the ERGOM tool. The research is characterized as applied, exploratory, and descriptive and was structured into three phases: exploratory, development, and presentation. During the project development stage, the ERGOM tool was applied, encompassing the understanding of the user, context, and product, as well as the organization of project information and the assessment of the developed alternatives. As a result, a conceptual collection proposal was developed, comprising garments and design solutions conceived to address requirements related to mobility, safety, comfort, institutional identification, and suitability for the school context. The application of ERGOM contributed to systematizing the design process and integrating ergonomic, functional, and aesthetic requirements into design decisions. It is concluded that the adopted approach has the potential to guide the development of school sports uniforms by articulating ergonomics, functionality, and institutional identity throughout the design process.
