This work proposes a reflection on the relationship between children and the city, and how their understanding of the street develops through pedagogical workshops exploring the theme of urban education. The theoretical foundations are based on the perspective of the Educating Cities movement and the relationship between children and the city within the context of the [com]VIDA university extension project. The pedagogical workshops aim to bring children closer to urban public spaces, proposing activities that explore skills and competencies aligned with the National Common Core Curriculum. This paper presents the main results of three activities developed during workshops conducted with three fifth-grade classes from two public municipal schools in Santa Maria in 2024.
