This article seeks to promote initiatives so that the city of Santa Maria/RS becomes an educational city. For this transformation to occur, it is essential that the city adopts an integrated approach that involves different sectors of society. Public policies must prioritize education as a central axis of urban development, with investments in educational infrastructure, ranging from well-equipped schools to cultural and sporting spaces. The active participation of the community must be encouraged, strengthening the link between schools and society. Projects that foster inclusion, cultural diversity and environmental sustainability are also crucial to forming conscious and engaged citizens. Thus, this scientific research article is based on the city’s attractions and theoretical works by Bianchessi (2020), Grinover (2021) and Silva (2020) that clarify the concepts and meanings of educating cities, to base the processes and initiatives in practice. for this transformation to be effective, demonstrating the existing actions, programs and infrastructure, as well as the challenges to contribute to the future of its inhabitants, including social, political, economic and cultural development.
