Abstract

The text analyzes women’s freedom in the context of the contemporary crisis of neoliberalism, understood not only as an economic doctrine but as a political and moral rationality that permeates institutions, subjectivities, and forms of governance. Through a critical dialogue with debates on the relationship between feminism and neoliberalism, it examines the processes through which feminist demands have been adapted and captured by so-called “progressive neoliberalism,” as well as the conservative and anti-feminist reactions that have emerged in recent authoritarian scenarios. It argues that, after the 2008 crisis, neoliberalism did not collapse but was reconfigured as a permanent government of crisis, articulating austerity, financialization, the moralization of social life, and a resurgence of patriarchy. In this context, the text highlights the subversive character of transnational feminist practices, particularly in Latin America, where neoliberal rationality has been imposed in authoritarian and colonial forms. By mobilizing experiences such as community-based feminisms, eco-territorial feminisms, and feminist strikes, the analysis reveals forms of resistance rooted in the reproduction of life, care, and the construction of cross-border alliances. Finally, it proposes a conception of women’s freedom as a relational and political practice, irreducible to market logic and oriented toward the creation of common spaces capable of challenging neoliberal hegemony and its forms of domination.
