Twenty-five years of excellence: the history of the undergraduate Accounting program at the Franciscana University

The Accounting course at the Franciscana University (UFN), located in Santa Maria/RS, stands out for its tradition and contribution to the training of professionals who are qualified and committed to ethics and socioeconomic development. This experience report describes the course’s trajectory, from its initial conception to the present day. To achieve this objective, this work is configured as a qualitative and documentary research. Among the main aspects addressed are its history, curricular innovations and actions carried out in the areas of teaching, research and extension. The study also highlights the activities developed in an integrated manner with the Administration and Accounting courses, such as the Integrated Business Forum, the Business Fair, student reception, technical trips, and extension actions. The infrastructure and student support are also analyzed, evidencing academic excellence and commitment to the community.
