The influence of the Covid-19 pandemic on people management practices in organizations

With the Covid-19 pandemic, organizations around the world needed to adapt to the restrictive measures imposed by governments, thus causing changes in the daily organizational routine and its processes, thus causing changes in the human resources management sector and its processes. Therefore, the present work had the general objective of analyzing what were the main changes in human resources management practices that occurred as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The specific objectives were: to describe the profile of the participating companies; to verify which human resources management practices are related to the recruitment, selection, training and development processes; to identify which changes in human resources management practices have occurred as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. To achieve the objectives, a quantitative, descriptive research was carried out, with a technical procedure of the field study, through the application of questionnaires to the managers of companies in Santa Maria - RS that had a formalized human resources management sector. The questions present in the questionnaire were divided between questions related to the profile of the companies and the human resources management processes. Obtaining 21 responses where managers stated that the 4 selected processes underwent changes resulting from the pandemic, changes caused by restrictions, but that technology and the internet have become a great ally of organizations and, with this, helping companies from the recruitment process, through selection and training to the development of their employees, changes that came to optimize and qualify organizational processes.
