Abstract

This study aimed to address the perinatal mourning process, its impacts on the mental health of the maternal figure and the different forms of management used by Psychology. The research carried out is characterized as a bibliography with a qualitative methodological approach. Data collection was carried out between August and November 2021. The bibliographic sources used were national and international books and articles. The research of articles was carried out in electronic databases, such as Scielo and Google Academic. The results show that maternal perinatal grief is a complex and lonely grief, with little research on this topic, which makes it even more important to carry out studies on the subject, in order to adequately assist and guide the management of bereaved mothers, family members or any audience interested in the topic studied.
