Abstract

The way municipalities and states prepare to provide assistance to individuals with autism is important for the construction of an inclusive, conducive, and welcoming environment. There are laws in force in our country that support the inclusion of individuals facing this issue in society. Therefore, this research sought to analyze the legal conditions related to the inclusion of individuals with autism in Brazilian society, as well as to adopt a qualitative approach grounded in a literature review. Autism is characterized by a variety of behaviors that affect individuals distinctly and to varying degrees. It is considered that with the most current legislation, individuals with autism will gain more visibility, thus facilitating their integration into society in order to enjoy rights already acquired. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the legal foundations for the inclusion of individuals with autism, highlighting the importance of effective public policies and concrete measures to promote equal opportunities and respect for diversity.
