Abstract

In his work, the capital, Karl Marx established a comparative point between the situation of the previous (primitive) accumulation of capital and the configuration of original sin. He, thus, established a point of relationship between economics and theology. This article, which was designed in two parts, discusses, in the first part, the issue of economics, from its comparative aspects to the theology’s proposition in relation to original sin and current sin, so that the question is also asked, by the original economy and the derived or current economy. The conclusion reached is that the capital economy manifests itself as a mutant entity and that the mutations imposed by the advance of capital open up spaces of enormous human, social and ecological uncertainty. In this first part, we focus on the economy. In the second, we will ask the same guiding questions for theology.
