The contribution of technodiversity to Artificial Intelligence regulation

Abstract

This article aims to understand the importance of legal regulation of artificial intelligence systems and, in this context, critically assess the contribution of a decolonial perspective on technology during the legislative process, using the concept of technodiversity. Belonging to the socio-legal field and primarily employing qualitative research methods such as literature review and legal dogmatics, the study concludes that, despite the challenges faced by law due to rapid technological advancement, globalization, and the predominance of a Eurocentric perspective (including in countries of the Global South), a pluralistic view of technology that values different local knowledge can contribute to better regulation of the subject, especially considering its potential impact on socio-economic development.
