Bovine biofertilizers and efficient microorganisms have potential to improve soil and forage productivity. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of bovine biofertilizer and inoculation with efficient microorganisms on the development and production of Capiaçu in the semiarid region of Piauí. A completely randomized design was adopted in a 4x2 factorial scheme, where four doses were tested: 0; 0.465; 0.930; 1.860 L per pot of bovine biofertilizer, with the presence or absence of efficient microorganisms (EM) with four replicates. Forty days before planting, the biofertilizer doses were added to the soil. The EM solution was diluted in a ratio of 1:1000 and applied to the soil. After 30 days of planting, thinning was performed followed by a uniformity cut in all plots. Subsequently, two more cuts were performed at 50-day intervals. After the cuts, the following variables were analyzed: plant height, number of leaves, number of live leaves, number of dead leaves, number of tillers, number of leaves per tiller, fresh leaf biomass, fresh stem biomass, dry leaf mass, dry stem mass, total dry mass and productivity. In the first cut, the biofertilizer at a dose of 0.930 L per pot improved the growth and production of Capiaçu and EM associeated with biofertilizer increased the number of leaves and tillering of Capiaçu. EM application is not recommended for production variables. In the second cut, neither the biofertilizer nor EM influenced the growth and productivity of Capiaçu.
