Abstract

The continuous evolution of digital games has allowed a change in the way the field is viewed, from previously seen only as a tool for entertainment to now also as an educational tool. In this project, a digital multiplayer game was developed with the purpose of building a social space for the practice of communicative action. This social construction was carried out through objectives that the players must fulfill together. To this end, Jürgen Habermas’ theory of communicative action was studied along with the impact of social interaction on psychological and cognitive aspects. The Mirror Networking library was also studied to build the multiplayer game. Using Chandler’s methodology, the game style, mechanics, visual themes and platforms of the project were planned, implemented in the Unity graphics engine, thus giving rise to the final product that achieved the proposed objectives.
