The aim of this study is to report the occurrence of Oenothera rosea L’Hér. ex Aiton in Rio Grande do Sul, as well as presenting its distribution in Brazilian territory, based on a review of records in national herbaria. In this verification, among other data, the collection sites were observed, with a focus on the origin of the occurrence, whether by cultivation, escape from cultivation or naturalization. The results show that O. rosea has been registered in the Brazilian territory for many decades, especially in the modified areas, and collaborates with the understanding of the preference of the species for these environments.
